No Religion Feat Gwendolyn Rich "The Bridge"

Out Now on SOG Liquid

No Religion hail from Switerzland and are one of the most popular cross over bands from that country, fusing rock with tech house grooves with spectacular results. They have enjoyed commerical chart success in the US but now aim fro the underground with this release on SOG, featuring the vocals of Gwendolyn Rich entitled 'The Bridge'.

The Greed and Absolut Mix starts off with some pumping bass that builds and builds as atmospheric sweeps fall over the top like waves crashing as the track heads off in a more percussive direction, atmospherics bubbling away nicely behind the beats before tight drum percussion really gets a groove going here which directs us towards the break where everything slowly trickles away to reveal the subtle atmospheric sounds that had been bubbling away throught the track.

Pow-Low's mix fuses tech and tribal elements with dark vocal samples that weaves forward, as each drum pattern evolves and shapes the track further, before the break heralds a descent into electronic guitars and Gwendolyn's vocals take control over the track in a massive climatic grand finale. An interesting approach and arrangement and when the main vocal kicks in, it feels like you're in a festival marching through a huge cavanerous void. Large.

Switerland's SOG imprint once again continues to amaze with yet more innovative releases that push the normal boundaries of progressive house behind any limits you could care to imagine. Check out the Greed and Absolut mix, but its the Pow-Low mix that really does the the business here. Check it out.
