Pete Gawtry "Re-Morse (Remixes)"

Out Now on Tune Inn Records

Pete Gawtry is the owner of Tune Inn, a record store based in Selby, Yorkshire in the UK. The store has recently won an award for being the best Independent record shop in the UK at the Muzik Magazine Awards 2002. In addition to this they run three labels, Tune Inn Records, Tune Inn Limited, and Progress Inn which has showcased original and material from practially the who's who in the progressive music scene. Peter has also dabbled with production, working with Medway on Geno Sequence and he has now released his first solo release, 'Re-Morse' with remixes coming from Hardy Heller and DJ Remy.

Hardy Heller takes a more experimental approach to the track, bringing the drums to the surface of the track and moving around the sounds that lay below, pushing the sound into a slightly darker, harder vibe as things come together nicely in the centre. Cut up looping effects only add to the mood and what Hardy has done is provided a more foreboding mix for the darker moments of a club night which will fit nicely at the start or middle of a set.

DJ Remy Unger on the other hand takes a similar direction but keeps things on an uplifting groove that just gains momentum as things get underway. An acid bassline drops as layered beat arrangements drive over the top, dropping only slightly before returning with even more intensity, before heading for the finish line with a full on trance influence that really makes this a mix for a big room.

For Pete's debut solo production, the quality here is well above par, and once again Tune Inn show they have major support from the scene by enlisting two of the top European producers to add some extra sizzle to things.
