Vigi & Flip "Pro Teen"

Following on in quick fashion from the mindfuck that was 'Drop Zone', Akademia quickly follow it up with the second release on the imprint. This time long time breakbeat producers Vigi and Flip deliver what is rumoured to be their last collaboration for the time being, Pro Teen.

Phat beats are on the menu as we are dished up the Original Mix, a tough funky bassline and filthy drum and bass stabs come together to form one hefty punching track that will send the floor into a frenzy. Eerie samples and dark reverb only add atmosphere to this brooding, growling demon. Large and in charge, and will certainly be keeping carpenters in business with all the dancefloors this baby will rip up.

Vigi embarks on a solo remix on the b-side, reworking the track into a much deeper, restrained vibe, trippy drum percussion and twisted vocals offering something a little different to the original, showcasing some nice ideas, but cannot compete with the pure adrenalin shot that is the Original. Nevertheless a good mix, for a slightly different moment in a set. Vigi doesnt let the team down.

Check this out purely for the a-side monster, and wait in anticipation as Mara's Heretic will soon be unleashed by this label with intentions of firmly making a name for themselves in the breaks scene.
