The follow-up to the original label compilation, Layered Sounds 2 provides a glimpse into the impressive international talent dwelling under the Bedrock name, spread over two unique discs, one focusing on the downtempo side of the Bedrock label, and the other on it's more traditional club sound. The album's John Digweed has been a busy man recently, working simultaneously as DJ, promoter, and producer.

In addition to having brought us the new 'Original Series' compilations and the first artist album from Pole Folder, Digweed and production partner Nick Muir have been hard at work on the new Bedrock single due out early Autumn, and this new Layered Sounds album is just the first of several album projects yet to come from the Bedrock label.

World class mix-master John Digweed has been a busy man recently - working simultaneously as DJ, promoter, and producer. The combined efforts of Digweed and production partner Nick Muir have made the Bedrock name synonymous with quality underground progressive music, bringing artists such as Moonface and The Hush into the spotlight.

A true testament to Digweed's A&R abilities, Layered Sounds 2 is a reflection of the label's healthy diversity, exhibiting tracks that draw influences from every corner of the globe.

The first disc features an assortment of rare and unreleased leftfield mixes from the Bedrock catalogue. Terry Grant's mix, 'I'll Kill You (Softly)', sets the downtempo mood from the very start. CD1 keeps its cool with chilled-out tracks and remixes from Morgan Page & Gregory Shiff, Luke Chable, Voyager, and John Debo. Renowned US house producer Voyager contributes with 2 exclusive downbeat tracks, 'Downtown Bubble' and 'The March'.

Once you've been chilled to the bone with the first disc, CD2 heats up the beat with a fine collection of rare and remixed tracks from both Bedrock and Bedrock Breaks. Under the Bedrock moniker, Digweed and Muir themselves kick it off with "Forge (Fretwell Remix)". The Greek-influenced 'Pa Dida' by Dousk features an infectious groove and detailed multi-layering, while Luke Fair's 'Lokitas (Original Mix)' drops some fresh house flavor. KVK, Derek Howell, Weird Continental Types, and Elite Force are just some of the names that have played a part in making CD2 a true reflection of the soul of the Bedrock dance floor.
