Brancaccio & Aisher "Everybody (Tom Mangan Mix)"

Out Now on Bedrock Records

It can be said that the original version of Brancaccio and Aisher's 'Everybody' was met with distinctly mixed reactions. It is quite basically one of those tracks you love or you don't. What you can't knock is the duo's desire to explore new territories whilst remaining true to the roots of house, and this is something Tom Mangan shares a belief in. In fact, it was quite probably these likeminded tendencies that pushed Tom into contacting Bedrock, and asking to remix the track, and it seems now the mix was turned in, that they have deemed it good enough for release, and here it is..

Having earned a repuatation for producing diverse, jackin house grooves, Tom Mangan does not disappoint on this 'Hoodisgood Mix', using big acid drums and slick analogue style effects to create the template for what is to come. The 'Everbody' vocal is gradually introduced as loops, filters and beats affect it, whilst the groove is kept moving, stopped only by a big sub bass riff which bounces freely around the groove like a hyperactive child in a space hopper race, bouncing harder towards the break at the finish line, dropping down to a vocal solo. Piercing synths cut up the groove on the outro, as Tom Mangan has once again put together another jackin, crackin piece of work.

In comparison to the original, this remix just has that little extra, but when shackled with the jackin grooves and tough drums that are fast becoming a trademark of that man Mangan, this remix stands high above the somewhat plodding and uninspired original. Check this out.
