Morgan Page & Gregory Shiff "All I Know (Remixes)"

East Coast US producer Morgan Page has been making inroads in the last few months, and getting the widespread recognition he so rightly deserves. This collaboration with Gregory Shiff entitled 'All I Know' took everyone by surprise and become one of the standout tracks on Bedrock in the last few months. Since then he's gone on to produce an equally impressive single for SAW Recordings called 'Falling', and now he returns to Bedrock again where 'All I Know' gets the remix treatment.

Sticking close to the template of the original but giving it a more upbeat and driving twist, 'Hernan Cattaneo & Martin Garcia' deliver a masterful remix on the a-side. Leaving Astrid Suryanto's immense vocal to it's own devices, Hernan & Martin lay down some subtle grooves and a killer bassline that will leave no excuse for any DJ who found the original to be too minimal for their tastes, as this mix is a right little stormer for those peak time sets.

Over on the flip, 'Timewriter' makes his Bedrock debut, with a stunning remix that fans of his work will be fawning over, and for those who have never heard of him, this is a small indication of what this talented producer is capable of. Funky rhythms and stabs are woven into smooth breakbeat layers, and coupled with the big vocal lead, this is a stirring remix that takes the original to a whole new level.

Many people probably would never have expected to see Timewriter on the Bedrock label, but it just shows how far and wide the label's scope is spreading more and more, and following on from the superb original 12", this set of remixes are respectful and at the same time take the track to an entirely different audience, something Bedrock are always striving to do and do so quite admirably here.
