Tigerhook Presents Randall Jones "Pathwork EP (Part One)"

Out Now on Bedrock Records

With 'Beautiful Thang' causing a bit of a stir upon it's release some time ago now, it was only a matter of time before the Tigerhook Corporation returned to Bedrock, and they do so in fine fashion with a two part EP entitled 'Pathwork'. This first half sees Randall Jones team up with his friend and occasional co-producer Phillip Charles, with acclaimed poet Ursula Rucker lending her unique service to what is already a unique idea from the Tigerhook Corporation.

The first of the tracks, 'Tonite' weaves Ursula's spoken vocals through a soundscape of low bass, crisp drum patterns and rippling effects that send shimmers throughout the groove. The way the beats just roll off and fade into the groove subtly drag you in, as Ursula's wispy voice etches itself into your mind. Subtle drops and smooth beats keep you captivating and the whole track is like a snakecharmer's spell, with you as the snake. The acapella has it's own similar effect also.

'The Bitter Truth' delivers an announcement of Tigerhook's continuing dedication to their beliefs and their love of music, before we head into the track proper. Vibrating effects and a solid drum groove work in tandem, with a rumbling b-line pushing it's way through the sounds. A deep melody floats within the big void, filtered sounds giving it an even bigger presence, as the track moves the gears up a few notches, ensuring that when this baby hits the dancefloor, it stays there.

Two diverse tracks which both hold their own in any environment you choose to use them, and a continuation of the quality we have come to expect from Randall Jones and the Tigerhook crew, with more to come..
